Day 194: 20 May 2026
Poem --
It’s the winding down of the day —
Little One’s asleep, breathing softly.
The books and toys are put away.
I am happy and content.
I am uncomfortable.
It’s a marvellous thing my body’s done
But when I look in the mirror
I’m still getting used to what it’s become.
I am tired.
I am awake.
There are moments in the day
When I just want an hour to myself.
But then, what would I actually do with it? I say.
I am growing.
I am alive.
Who am I now?
Sometimes I wonder.
A wife. A mother.
And me?
Nothing living stays the same.
And that’s true for me, too.
